This really depends on your situation and the nature of the injury... However, the answer is
probably "yes!"
The vast majority of the time it is safe to train with an injury and is to be encouraged!
Injuries are inevitable in life (even more so as we age) and learning how to adapt your
training and continue to move with injuries
is vital to staying in good physical and mental health. Kicking back and doing nothing will
result in
losing conditioning, strength, flexibility, etc., and can lead to further dysfunction in the
body as well as having a negative impact on your mental health.
If you have any minor injuries or localised discomfort we will be able to modify routines to
work around them and
aim to provide some remedial relief as you practice/train.
If you have a more serious injury that you are worried about but have not yet
received a medical diagnosis we would recommend that
you seek medical advice so that you can understand the nature of your injury and how best to
respond to it.
If you have received a medical diagnosis (and have not been told to avoid all
physical
activity — i.e. you have not been prescribed "full rest" — a rarity these days!) then we
will be able to create an exercise programme for you
that works around your injury and supports your rehabilitation.
Having an injury diagnosis allows us to be clear about the nature and cause of an injury and
for us to respond accordingly when we work together.
So let's keep moving and keep motivated!
If you are unsure about your situation then the best thing it to arrange a free video
consultation to discuss your personal situation.
